Greek Artists Hold First Group Art Exhibition in Melbourne

The first group art exhibition, organised by the Greek-Australian Cultural Association of Melbourne, has opened in the “Steps” gallery room.

Artists of different ages and styles will exhibit their work and have the opportunity to  link their experiences with the memories that emerge from the works themselves,  “joining the Greek community”, said Education Coordinator at the Consulate General of  Greece in Melbourne Harris Ladopoulos, who performed the official opening of the exhibition.

Exhibition coordinator Frixos Ioannidis, stressed that the aim of the exhibition was to highlight the work of Greek and Philhellenes artists living and working in Australia.

”We hope that this exhibition will become an institution, which gives the opportunity to  young artists to showcase their work both in the Greek community, and in the wider Australian environment,” he concluded.
