Former Politician Petros Georgiou Becomes a University Professor

Petros Georgiou, one of Australia’s most distinguished  politicians is following an academic career after resigning from politics. Mr. Georgiou, MP of the Federal Liberal Party for years, has taken the position of Professor at the Universities of Monash and Melbourne.

As Mr. Georgiou explained, his new duty is to teach Political Sciences, to give public lectures and to publish articles for the Australian political scene.  Both Universities in their announcements expressed their enthusiasm regarding their cooperation with Mr. Georgiou, claiming that  he will be a great asset for both the Institutions and students.

Petros Georgiou was born on Corfu, in 1947. His parents Konstantinos and Anastasia come from Northern Epirus. He resigned from the Federal Parliament after 16 consecutive years and was thought to be ”the conscience” of the Liberal Party.
