“Blair’s Taste of Greece” Premiers May 26th

A culinary show to honor Greek cuisine and Greek tourism will be broadcast in a few days, on the SBS channel. In the aftermath of the tragic news of the death of her son Milan Blair last month, the television series “Blair’s Taste of Greece”, will begin to air exclusively on SBS One on Thursday, May 26th at 8:00 p.m .

The seven-episode series will be broadcast earlier than expected, as a tribute to 29-year-old Milan Blair who passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011, from acute leukemia. “He was the most positive and optimistic person I’ve ever met and it was a joy and happiness for me to be his mother. I still have not fully realized the loss” said his mother, Linda.
Seeking culinary delights, adventure and antiquities, Linda and Blair toured the Peloponnese with a film crew in 2010. The first episode of the show will be broadcast in a few days, from the Australian state channel.

Mother and son traveled in the Peloponnese, cooking, eating and drinking with the locals who they got on with very well. The result is indeed impressive, as throughout the show they demonstrate the beauty of the Peloponnese, its history, cuisine, wineries, owners of  restaurants and generally its people.
“It was an unprecedented journey. We were looking for different dishes everywhere” said Linda and her son, shortly before he died. “With my mother there is never a dull moment. In the Peloponnese, our relationship has reached another level.”
By visiting and filming in the Peloponnese, the two presenters explored archaeological sites, learned about traditional dishes,  cooked with local products and chatted with famous chefs in each region. Greek ouzo has a main role in their show as Linda states that she is a great fan and gives lots of information about the history and the production of the liqueur. After her return to Australia, she states that will still use it at formal and informal events for her Australian guests.
