A meeting with the Federal Immigration Minister of Australia, Chris Bowen, will have a delegation of the Board of the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, for the issue of migration from Greece.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, at the office of the Minister, at the Parliament in Canberra.
The delegation of the Community Board, headed by President Vassilios Papastergiadis, will brief Mr. Bowen about the increasing number of Greek citizens wishing to emmigrate to Australia as a result of the economic crisis in Greece, and the problems with the bureaucratic delays in processing their applications.
It is also noted that in the Community delegation there will be Greek Australian experts on immigration issues and a representative of the Greek-Australian National Council.
