According to a report by the organization “Save the Children”, which came after a survey on the parameters and the benefits of the public welfare for mother and child, such as health of children and mothers, education and economic opportunities, the two countries which provide the best conditions for mothers to raise their children is Norway and Australia, while the worst is Afghanistan.
Greece ranked 24th place in the international list of the countries which are the best for a mother to raise her children. The U.S.A. ranked 28th place. The U.S.A. seems to lack in the benefits of public welfare for mother and child, in comparison with other developed nations. The top places are occupied by Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Holland and Belgium; countries which are providing their citizens with high living standards.
The last places are occupied, apart from Afghanistan, by Nigeria, Chad, Guinea, Yemen, Republic of Congo, Mali, Sudan, Eritrea and Equatorial Guinea.
