Preparations for this year’s celebration of the 1st of May, organized by the Labor Council of NSW, have already started. Expatriate unionist George Gkotsis is the president of the Greek members. On Thursday, the 28th of April, May Day was welcomed at Cypriot Community’s club of NSW, in Stanmore. Secretary of the Labor Council Mark Lennon, mayor Marrickville Fiona Byrne and representatives of the labor unions were present. On Sunday at noon, there will be a march starting from the St. James station of Hyde Park, in the centre of the city.
