Profile of Maria Strintzo’s Dedication to Ethiopian Orphans

A Greek woman from Australia has dedicated her life to the relief of orphans in Ethiopia with the support of her Kozani compatriots.
This is Maria Strintzos who with the support the Association of the Kalonerites of  Kozani Melbourne, started a social program that coordinates and monitors the daily lives of orphans. Today, Maria herself takes care of fifty-seven kids!

Maria Strintzos, the Greek Maria of Australia, like the Ethiopians say, recently had several meetings with the Australian Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd, who visited Ethiopia for the inauguration of the Australian embassy there.
Rudd also met with the little Haftu, a boy from Tigray in northern Ethiopia, who won Maria’s heart and decided to adopt him. His name is translated into Greek by the word wealth and from what she says, he is indeed a precious jewel of her heart.

Rudd praised the work of the expatriate for orphans in the province of Ethiopia.
Strintzos explained that Ethiopians in the area do volunteer work and offer free materials for the construction of the orphanages. However, it is not enough. They need equipment and instruments, so that the children will have opportunities to develop the creativity of their thinking and broaden their knowledge and skills.
