Members of the state Parliament recently founded the Victoria-Cyprus Parliamentary Friendship Committee. It is the first inter-party unit of friendship between Victoria and the Republic of Cyprus. Its members – members of Parliament coming from different parties ̶ aspire to become the “permanent link” between the Republic of Cyprus and Cypriots and the Parliament of Victoria. During its first meeting, the new committee elected Mr. Ioannis Pantazopoulos –Dandenong MP and President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association ̶ and Burwood MP Mr. Graham Watt as co-presidents. Bentleigh MP Elizabeth Miller was elected as Secretary of the Committee.
