Ancient Greek Musical Instruments Exhibit Held in Melbourne

Last Monday, a different exhibition was inaugurated at the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne. More specifically, it is a collection of 42 ancient Greek musical instruments, transferred from Katakolo, Ilia to Australia. The exhibition takes place under the auspices of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.

The Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Nickolas Kotsiras, pointed out that all teenagers and young people of Victoria should visit this exhibition, in order to find out how music has changed the world, societies, manners and customs.

The dignitaries were welcomed by the Director of the Museum, Vicky Giannoulatou. In her proclamation, the Consul General of Greece, Eleni Lianidou, expressed her admiration about the exhibits and congratulated Mr. Kotsanas, who took the initiative of transferring the exhibition from Greece to Australia, and Mr. Charis Stamoulis for his donation to the Greek community.
