Disabled Persons Athletics World Championship Awards 3 Greeks

The Greek delegation, participating in the Disabled Persons Athletics World Championship, which took place in Christchurch, New Zealand won three medals. The medals included a gold, silver and bronze award. Paschalis Stathelakos, champion in discus (category F40) won the gold medal and beat the world record of the brazilian athlete, Santos. Today, Stathelakos will be in the running for one more medal in shot put.  He won the gold medal in shot put at the Paralympic Games of Beijing. Paralympic athlete, Maria Stamatoula won the bronze medal in shot put (categories F33/34), beating one more world record. Finally Ioannis Protos won the silver medal in 100m men (category T13).
