Thousands of Greeks of Australia attended the annual excursion to Mornington Peninsula for the Australian Day Celebration, today. It is officially celebrated on January 26th.
The massive excursion was organized by the Greek Senior Citizens Association of Melbourne and Victoria in cooperation with the Greek Media Group, with the financial aid of the Victorian Mutlicultural Commission. According to the coordinator of the Association, George Katsourakis, the political leadership of Victoria could not attend the event, because it has to stand by the victims of the floods. “Our thoughts are with them”, stated Katsourakis.
