Cypriot tennis player Marcos Baghdatis has qualified for the third round of the Australian Open. This results after winning at the Rod Laver Arena, with Argentine Juan Martin del Potro 3-1 (6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3).
Baghdatis, currently 22nd in the ATP’s World Rankings, will face Austrian Jurgen Melzer who is 10th in the ATP’ World Rankings, for a place in the 4th round of this year’s first Grand Slam.
The match between Baghdatis and Melzer is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
