Greek Community Honors Students Excelling in Greek

This year’s Christmas celebration of the Greek community in Melbourne was dedicated to students who excelled in Greek. Prizes were awarded to students who excelled in Greek from the community, in collaboration with the Education Office of the Greek Consulate in Melbourne and The Bank of Cyprus in Australia.
The President of the Community Vassilis Papastergiadis, welcomed the students, the teachers of community schools, a large number of community organizations’ representatives and members, and the media.
The community has invested a lot in education.  This investment has yielded excellent results and helped new generations learn our language and culture and excel in al levels, underlined Mr. Papastergiadis.
The head of the Educational Committee of the Board of Directors of the Community Theodoros Markos, presented students excelling in Greek.  The students were Priscilla Savvopoulou, Danai Andreopoulou, Yannis Tsaousis, and Evangelos Mantis.
The coordinator of the Consulate’s Education Office in Melbourne, Harris Ladopoulos awarded Excellence Certificates to students who excelled in Greek, along with Mark Benevetsuros from Xavier College, who excelled in ancient Greek.
