“Philathenian” Book Presentation in Melbourne November 12th

On Friday, November 12th in Melbourne, a presentation of the book published by the Greek Epigraphy Society of Greece in honor of the renowned professor of Greek Epigraphy and Archaeology, admirer of Greek culture and Dean of La Trobe University in Melbourne, Professor Michael John Osborne (photo), will be held. The book is titled: “Philathenian, Studies in Honor of Michael John Osborne”.
The event will be held in the main hall of the Greek Museum in Melbourne in the presence of many academics. This impressive publication, features collaborations between prominent archaeologists and researchers of Greek Epigraphy, and studies by renowned academics who had the honor to work with Professor Osborne.  The book will be officially released next October in Athens and in November in Melbourne.
The book “Philathenian” was edited by his intellectual “children” and close associates.  They include academia experts Anastasios M. Tamis, Chris Mackie, Sean Byrne.  Aggelos Matthaiou, Secretary of the Greek Epigraphy Society of Greece, was in charge of the publishing procedures.
In this 372 page volume, 21 renowned academics are taking part. The book is divided into two parts; the first part includes texts by expert archaeologists and epigraphy professors.  In the second part many important Greek academics and researchers are featured along with friends of the honoree Philathenian, Michael John Osborne.
