Greek musical, Baraki at Stanmore

Six young people coming together at a trendy Inner West bar is no stretch from reality, but weave that with live music from Greeceā€™s new wave period and you have yourself a hell of a show.
Baraki 2010 is black comedy set against the current climate of world economic upheaval. Presented by Take Away Theatre and based on an original one-act version first performed at Newtownā€™s Steki restaurant, the story has now evolved into a full-length drama, cabaret show.
Baraki, which in Greek translates as the little bar or my bar is also an official umbrella event of the 2010 Sydney Fringe.
Take Away Theatre is a Sydney Greek-Australian theatre company, active for more than 20 years and based in Marrickville, it has staged critically acclaimed productions including The Taming of the Strigla and Milk and Honey.
