The “Kings of Mykonos” Party in … Melbourne

Melbourne reminded Mykonos last Tuesday night. The reason for that was the world premiere of the Greek –Australian film “Kings of Mykonos”. Key cast includes Greek-Australian star Nick Giannopoulos, award winning Vince Colosimo and Alex Dimitriades, stunning Zeta Makrypoulia, American Kevin Sorbo, and Italian star Cosima Coppola. This international production will host a screening in Mykonos on May 29th.

The world premiere in Melbourne attended many stars from the Australian film, TV and sports industry. The event also attended…a goat which stars in the film. Hundreds of fans were waiting outside the cinema for the stars who attended the premiere. “All the Greek –Australian community is here. Including the goat”, noted Giannopoulos, who also emphasized “how appropriate it is to be having the world premiere of my new film, shot mostly in Mykonos, in the world’s third largest Greek city, my hometown of Melbourne”.

The premiere followed a Greek party at the night club “Kinisi”. According to Australian Press, and “60 Minutes” the movie is expected to promote Greek tourism internationally and attract tourists (at least from Australia) to Greece.

Written by Chris Anastassiades and Nick Giannopoulos, the “Kings of Mykonos” is directed by multi-award winning director Peter Andrikidis. The film opens in Australian cinemas on May 20 and in Greek Movie theatres on June 3rd.
