Hellas Melbourne is officially placed in the Pantheon with the greatest football teams of the world since last Tuesday May 11th. Hellas Melbourne was honored in a special ceremony in London, held by FIFA, as the top team for the Century in Oceania. The greatest teams of the rest parts of the world that were honored on the same day by FIFA were Real Madrid (Europe), Penarol Uruguay (South America), Asante Kotoko Ghana (Africa), Al Hilal Saudi Arabia (Asia), Saprissa Costa Rica (Central and North America).
This Gala event, hosted by FIFA “History and Statistics” Committee, honored with their presence many stars of the world’s football industry. In the photo you can see the President of Hellas, Elias Athanasakis (right) with the manager of the Spanish national football team (who also coached Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003) Vicente del Bosque, Real Madrid’s legend Emilio Butragueño, Chelsea’s best striker Didier Drogba, Trimboli and Armstrong, all present at the greatest moment of the greatest team of Australian Football.
