Mr Tharenou served as the principal of MacGregor Primary School which is the largest primary in Queensland.
Official events organised in Victoria to celebrate Australia Day saw a strong presence from the Greek community. Many thousands of Greeks descended at Mornigton Park two Sundays ago at the event organised by the Association of Greek Elderly Citizens Clubs of Melbourne and Victoria .
