Fitness instructor Amelia Giannopoulos is breaking the mould.
The super-svelte trainer was profiled in Musclemag for the first time in August 2006 and featured in body artist Emma Hack’s yoga-inspired calendar in 2007.
So it comes as no surprise her marriage to Sam Ricci at Partridge house later this month, doesn’t come straight out of the wedding manual.
“We are breaking lots of traditions for the wedding,” Amelia says.
“There is no bridal waltz, our mums are doing the speeches and the bridesmaids all have different dresses. We are also having photos prior to the ceremony.”
Amelia, who also fits into her schedule the busy job of being marketing manager for the Chapley Group, met her future husband on a winery tour of the Clare Valley.
“Jim from Tempest Hair and Anthony from the Pirie St Cibo arranged the tour and the rest is history,” she says.
Staying in tune with her healthy lifestyle, Amelia is bypassing the usual hens’ night shenanigans for an evening of organic pizza followed by cocktails at Salt bar. at Holdfast Shores.
Amelia – whose mum Mandy-Jane Giannopoulos is senior manager communications and marketing at Arts SA – will also host a “Sexy Housewife Tea Party”, a lingerie party where all her friends have to bring a healthy recipe for her to keep.
Amelia’s brother Kosta has flown in from Dubai to be in the wedding party with Sam’s brother Joe, and friends Jonny Benedetti and Adrian Peppicelli.
Amelia’s besties Bridget Beal, Renee Chambers, Debbie Akkari and Helen Ricci are in the bridal party.
“My dad’s Greek band is playing at the wedding, along with Adelaide icon DJ Josh for the dance music, so it should be a wild party,” she says.
