Obesity can also be faced with a mediterranean diet and this is the message that an expat academic will try to get through to Australian MPs. The Canberra Times article also refers to the appointment of the dietician and mediterranean diet specialist Ms Katerina Itsiopoulou to the National Australian University in Canberra.
Ms Itsiopoulou has dealt with mediterranean diet issues, obesity and illnesses that are related to nutrition and modes of cooking. She states that she is particularly interested in the mediterranean diet because of her greek roots and hopes to promote the message of healthy eating to Canberra University students as well. In the past, ms Itsiopoulou had worked as an academic in universities of Melbourne. During a time when obesity is becoming a major issue in Australia, that diabetes is growing and diets are becoming a universal obsession, it s extremely interesting to teach, to do research and to discuss issues related to nutrition, ms.
